I’ll be honest—I’m not entirely sure why I ordered this, but it was interesting to check out. This is a 0.5 carat lab-grown ruby with a round brilliant cut, and visually it’s actually a very nice little stone. The color is deep and vibrant, and there’s a surprising amount of depth and sparkle for such a small gem. It would definitely work well for someone looking to set a ruby in a custom ring, necklace, or other DIY jewelry project. I did a quick check with my diamond tester. While those testers aren’t true gemstone analyzers, they can still detect stones that conduct heat well (which many harder gemstones do). The ruby did pass the tester, which adds a bit of reassurance that it’s at least consistent with the material being advertised. My only real hesitation is the price. Around $33 for a half-carat lab-grown ruby feels a bit high to me. In this case, it seems like a good portion of what you’re paying for is the AGL certificate/report that comes with the stone rather than just the gem itself. That said, the ruby itself is lovely, with rich color and a clean appearance. If having the certificate and documentation matters to you, this could be a nice option for a small jewelry project.
This is beautiful synthetic ruby in a .5 carat size. It measures 5mm, so it is rather small. Complete with AGL certification from Antwerp Gemological Laboratory. Tested as ruby on a gem tester so I can rest knowing it is in fact a ruby. It is probably too small to mount in jewelry by itself, but with other stones it could look good. It has a lot of sparkle and I love the vivid red "pigeon blood" color.
Brilliant is right, this is a beautiful Ruby - although it's synthetic it is still a ruby not man-made it's man grown, still a ruby. Comes with a certificate and although this is one of the smaller sizes it's so - so very pretty and whether a replacement for a stone lost to set in a setting of your choice it is a quality piece. I'm going to take this one and put it in a little Sterling silver cage to wear around my neck to remind me of my mother as that was her birthstone. Definitely a very good value and a beautiful little treasure!
This is a very pretty created ruby. It’s a good size, the ruby red is perfect, and it comes in a nice box with certification papers. If you’re looking for an inexpensive ruby, this is a good one for consideration. It is a lab grown stone, so it’s almost perfect, and to some people will look “fake” because it’s so perfect—without inclusions.
This synthetic ruby delivers the vivid, romantic red you’d expect from a fine gemstone, with the added confidence of lab-grown consistency. The round brilliant cut maximizes light return beautifully, giving the stone a lively sparkle that works especially well in minimalist rings or delicate pendant settings. Clarity is impressive across the 0.5–2.0 ct range, and the color saturation feels rich without tipping into overly dark tones. The included AGL certificate adds a reassuring layer of transparency, making it suitable not just for hobbyists but also for more serious jewelry makers who value documentation. For DIY projects—whether earrings, stackable rings, or custom bracelets—this stone offers versatility, visual impact, and an ethical alternative to mined rubies, all while maintaining a polished, professional look once set.
I ordered this because I needed a loose ruby to use in a wire wrap project and wanted something with decent color that wouldn't cost a lot. The stone is small. I knew 0.5 carat going in but it's still a little surprising when it arrives. Maybe 5mm across. The red is good though, pretty saturated and it does catch light well for how tiny it is. Not muddy or dark the way some synthetic stones look. It comes with an AGL certificate which I wasn't expecting at this price point and that was a nice detail. The price is a little high for what it is. Thirty-something dollars for a lab grown half carat feels like part of what I'm paying for is the paperwork. The stone itself is fine but I don't know that it's thirty-four dollars fine on its own.
Received the smaller size to review. It really does look like a natural ruby. Very pretty and would look wonderful in an earring setting or otherwise.
No matter how small I knew 0.5ct is, I wasn't expecting this beautiful stone to be this tiny. I wasn't impressed with the amount of packaging to ensure its safe delivery, it was excess, in my opinion. This also gives a false sense of size. The stone itself is beautiful, no matter how small. It is this beautiful rich ruby red that glisten in the sun. The way it is cut, beautiful! The price is also quite appealing for someone who may prefer to buy multiple of these to set for a piece of jewelry.
While smaller than I had anticipated, this is a beautiful lab Ruby with gemstone report included it comes packaged very nicely, and the quality is exceptionally deep and dark red. I wish I’d ordered a pair of them, but since I only have one, I can’t speak to how well they would match if you ordered more than one I think the price is reasonable for what it is. Mine is a “pigeon blood” vivid red round brilliant stone just over half a carat.
